Granola - Gé lán nuò lā màipiàn -格兰诺拉麦片

(I love when the Chinese translation sounds like the English word. màipiàn means oatmeal but if you didn’t speak Mandarin and heard “Gé lán nuò lā “ you might be able to guess what it is)

Recipe: 6️⃣ cups dry: 1️⃣ cup wet

👆This is all you need to remember when making granola

Ideas for dry ingredients:

  • Oatmeal
  • Pecans
  • Walnuts
  • Cacao Nibs
  • Coconut Flakes 🥥

Ideas for wet ingredients:

  • honey 🍯
  • maple syrup 🍁
  • coconut oil
  • olive oil

(I typically do 1/2 cup of coconut oil and 1/2 cup of maple syrup with a squeeze of honey)

Dried Fruit:

  • raisins
  • cranberries
  • dried pineapple

Spices:

  • cinnamon
  • nutmeg
  • cacao powder
  • maca powder

Sprinkle in some spices and vanilla. Mix It up. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. It will still look wet!! Don’t let it bake till it gets brown and toasty. It continues to cook and harden after you pull it out of the oven.

Once you pull it out of the oven, add in your dried fruits or wait till it cools completely to add in some chocolate chips 👀

Now go and experiment to your 💜’s desire! My recipe is pretty vague but it is really accommodating and perfect for cooking with kids! Feel free to ask me any questions!
